Photo Safari Slot Review

What is this mobile slot about?

This Safari feels more like a safe trip through a country park than the wilds of Africa. A mobile phone slot game that is better suited for the small screen and short journeys.

Photo Safari mobile slot from Play’n Go. So as far as reliability goes, you can’t get better. This little puppy (or lion to be more precise) will work on every device known to man.

Just a shame that the graphics are at best slightly fun and cartoony, and at worst fuzzy and generic. The sounds do not help bring out this video slot any further and being as the return to player rate is incredibly low for a low variance slot (a measly 94.17%), we can think of a hundred mobile slot games we would prefer to play. Super Safari by NextGen being one straight off the top of our head.

Still here and want to find out more? We’re impressed. Thankfully, this Photo Safari slot has one redeeming feature.

The bonus features come often and the bankroll goes down slow

The bonus features compromising of simple wilds, scatters, free spins and a click me feature. The last of which is by far the most ‘meh’ of features, where you’ll rarely get more than about 8x your bet. Potentially you can get up to 500x your bet, but don’t count on it: you’ll need five photo symbols on this 5 reel slot and then you’ll need to get the head of a lion five times. We’ve never even seen it once and you’re lucky to get three on most occasions.

The free spins redeems this game a little as the scatter turns wild during the free spin games, and we have managed to walk away with as much as 30x our bet here. However, most of the time, expect about 15x on average.

All in all, nothing here will bring much thrills or many big wins. Small wins, sure, but big wins? Nope.

Ultimately, you’ll be playing it safe with this mobile video slot, with your budgeting yo-yo-ing enough to not feel like your bankroll is disintegrating quickly. That said, with little hope of a big win, this is mostly for show until you find a far more wild beast to tame.

In-game bonus features

Wilds: The African drums is the wild symbol, replacing all other symbols except bonus and scatter symbols. 5 of these will bring you the in game slot jackpot of 5,000 coins.

Scatters: The film roll (very 1980's) is the scatter symbol, with three or more getting you 15 free spins. No multiplier, but the scatter acts as an extra wild on the reels, allowing you to build bigger combinations, and potentially, slightly larger wins.

Camera bonus: If you get 3, 4 or 5 camera symbols anywhere on the reels you'll win the respective amounts of 'click me's' to instant cash prizes. Here you'll be picking camera photos for shots of the animals. Get their backsides (more often than not) and you'll get a measly x2 your bet. Get the face of the animal and the wins are more reasonable, up to 100x, but more likely about 5x to 10x.

Closing thoughts

There are dozens of safari type slots we would rather play. We already mentioned Super Safari, but with the likes of the jackpot slot Mega Moolah and IGT's Cats out there, this Photo Safari slot on mobile will be hard pressed to find fans.

Still, the bonus features come frequent and it's certainly reliable when you just want a few spins that you know won't break easily.
