What you trigger depends on what animals you collected during the base game. You always start with 2 animals in the top left hand corner, and when one of the animal symbols land on reel 5, one of those will be replaced.
Unless it's an animal you have already collected, you get an instant cash prize. If the animal has a key, you unlock a third spot in the top left hand corner.
When you trigger the free spins, whatever animals you have in that spot, are the features you'll play. These can be anything from:
