The Arcade Bomb slot is retro in almost every way except for the one big explosive symbols that constantly lands on the reels.
We like to warn readers when they start reading our reviews for slots when they are about to get something they don’t expect.
For example, looking at this Arcade Bomb by Red Tiger Gaming, with it’s 20 paylines and fruit symbols, you might think what you have here is a classic video slot.
And you wouldn’t be wrong. You’re just not exactly right either.
If that was an instant kick to the guts, then we recommend head over to something like Arcarder slot by Thunderkick, or even the super nostalgic Space Invaders Playtech game.
However, before you walk away, you should know that it actually took a while before we noticed that there was no bonus games here.
And it wasn’t the fruits, bells and bar symbols that distracted us.
There’s only one feature here – bomb symbols that can show up individually, as covering what feels like almost all 5 reels.
These bombs have a countdown feature, and when they explode, cover the reels in the exact same symbol.
Sometimes it’s vertically, sometimes it’s horizontally, or scattered across several reels, but usually you get enough to get a clump of wins.
It’s quite exciting seeing those bomb count down and set themselves off to give you a screen of fruits.
The problem comes when, after around 100 spins or so, you do start noticing that not much else is happening here.
It’s the same problem that the Spectra slot had; a nice simple theme, with simple mechanics meaning you simply play for a short time.
Especially as even with those bombs, the wins you get in this Arcade Bomb slot game are only around 20x your bet. Granted you won’t lose fast either, but the thrills quickly lose their appeal.
Personally, we are bigger fans of the Lucky Little Devil slot by the same provider which doesn’t give you particularly bigger wins, but certainly more action.

Locked Reel Bombs: At any time any of four different types of bombs may show up instead of a symbol.
These will remain locked on screen for anything from 9 to 1 spin. When they do explode, they leave behind the exact same symbol in a pattern, over the reels.
Bombs do explode each other if they are in the path of destruction.
Each of the four bombs explode in the following patterns:
We actually had good fun on this Arcade Bomb slot on mobile, for a short while at least, as we eagerly waited for those bomb symbols to explode.
A classic fruity slot theme helped give this a familiar feel, whilst the graphics still having enough of a modern edge to appeal.
Unfortunately, the lustre of the bomb feature soon wanes as you start to miss symbols like wilds and scatters.
And then you remember that mobile casino games like the Jungle Books mobile slot by Yggdrasil Gaming have a possible 45 different bonus games combinations to conquer, and you swiftly move on.
Not necessarily worse off, but probably not looking back either.
