What is this mobile slot about?

Time to make a cup of tea, dream of summer evenings, and sit down to play this strangely brilliant Great British Baker’s Treat mobile slot.

There’s no denying that Play’n GO took, as it’s inspiration, the TV show the Great British Bake Off and tried to bring that flavour to these 5 reels. And honestly? Other than the sweet treats on the table, it didn’t quite manage it.

Instead, you are left feeling like you’ve wandered into a 1970s garden party – a little old fashioned and a little dated.

Considering the usually high level of graphical prettiness from Play’n GO studios slots, this didn’t quite live up to the visual expectation.

The proof is in the pudding… of the great slot features

So it may not be that interesting to look at, but it does have some genuine moments of brilliance that have made Play’n GO one of the best game casino vendors around.

Namely the fact that there are two ways to trigger the free spins, and each way brings with it a new surprise.

The most common way is by collecting stacks of a specific cake over a reel 3 times. You’ll then get 3 spins with that desserts special feature: expanding wilds, all low paying symbols turning the same, conjoined reels etc…

We’ve written about them all in our slot features below, but our favourite has to be any that gives us wild reels.

The Bake Off super spins are the icing on the cake

The second, and by far the most interesting, is when you get one of each of the high paying cakes in their corresponding reels. That triggers 5 super spins where you get one of the features added to each of the spins.

So by spin five, you’ve 5 bonus features giving you a huge chance at wins that easily stand at over 70x your bet – the biggest you can win is 5,000 times your bet.

So whilst this Baker’s Treat slot game may look fun and friendly, it may just make you bake out in cold sweats. You know what they say: if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the Baker’s Treat Kitchen.

Baker’s Treat slot pays both ways

Strangely, despite all these great features, what makes this Baker’s Treat game so playable is the fact that it pays both from left to right, but also from right to left.

Which is usually a feature you find in lower variance slots like the famous Starburst game or the Space Invaders slot.

But it helps give this high variance game a quickness of action that helps keep things moving till you can hit any of the free spin features and get the prize of top chef.

This Play’n GO slot machine can be a little hard on the wallet, however, so be careful, but enjoy some very sweet treats.

In-game bonus features

Pays Both Ways: This slot pays over 15 paylines from right to left and from left to right.

Wild Symbol: The frosted cake is the wild symbol and can appear on any reel to replace any symbol to create a win.

Flour Power Feature: Above each of the reels there is a collection meter for each of the cakes.

Reel 1 collect cupcakes, reel 2 collects blueberry pie, reel 3 collects carrot cakes, reel 4 collects cheesecakes and reel 5 collects strawberry sponge.

You collect the cakes by landing a full stack of that symbol in the corresponding reel. Once you've collected all 3 cakes, you get 3 free spins (based on the average bet of the spins made) with the following features:

  • Cupcakes: 2 reels are synchronised to show the same symbols (like in Twin Spin slot).
  • Blueberry Pie: 1 reel appears wild on each of the free spins.
  • Carrot Cake: All carrot cake symbols are upgraded to wilds.
  • Lemon Cheesecake: Any regular wild that appears on screen will expand to fill the reel.
  • Strawberry Sponge: All low paying macaroon symbols turn into one unified macaroon symbol.

Bake Off Feature: If all cake symbols land on each of their associate reels (not necessarily stacked) you get 5 free spins.

If you did trigger these with stacks of symbols on the reel, you get an extra free spin - so you can, theoretically, get 10 Baker's Treat free spins here, but in reality, you'll be lucky to play 6.

Each one of the flour power features above will play out, in order, adding to the last.

So the first spin will have 2 reels synchronised, the second spin will have 2 reels synchronised and 1 reel appear wild, the third spins will have 2 reels synchronised, 1 reel appear wild, and all carrot cake symbols be wild, etc...

It's by far the best feature in the game, though not always easy to find.

Closing thoughts

We really were not a fan of the theme of this Baker's Treat slot on mobile. It felt outdated, but we guess that was the point.

It's meant to give you flashback to summer garden parties from your youth, where the height of sophistication was macaroons and carrot cakes.

But even despite that we couldn't help but give this video slot a 4-star review because it does what most Play'n GO slots do best: give you lots of quick action, but also the chance at decent wins.

The mix of features and free spins keeps things lively, as does the pay both way reels, but be careful with how you budget; it's not till you get to the Bake Off that you'll have a chance at that 5,000 times your bet star prize.
