If you are thinking to yourself that you’ve read this slot review before… well, you probably have. The Book of Secrets mobile slot is a copy of many online slot games that have come before it, from the Book of Ra Deluxe review to the more recent Book of Baal slot.
Now, just because it’s not original doesn’t mean we’ve taken away the star rating. But if you are going to do a copy, make sure it’s a better one, or at least as good as the original.
And whilst the slot theme of the adventurer lady wearing her fedora and heading into an Ancient Egyptian tomb is well done, it’s not quite enough to bring a thrill to your spins.
The Book of Secrets slot has an RTP of 94.11%
And that’s very low. The RTP of a slot machine basically dictates how much of the money it will pay out over its lifetime. You want the RTP to be set around 96%, 95% at the lowest.
What’s a measly little 1%? Well, if this was one-of-a-kind and had a huge top win, like in the Misery Mining slot, maybe we would say… not a lot.
But here, you can play on the Book of Fallen slot (RTP 96.5%) or the Book of Toro (RTP 95%), or even the Book of the East (RTP 96.18%) for a lot more returns with almost identical mechanics.
It still has all the highlights of a great slot
We had to give this Book of Secrets online slot review 2 stars because at heart it still had all those great features.
You do get a wild symbol that also acts as a scatter. You do get a free spin bonus where one symbol will be chosen to pay as an expanding scatter pay. It does give you the chance to win on all 10 paylines at once and the top win of 5,000x your bet.
We just don’t want this to be the first ‘Book of’ slot that you try, and then get frustrated and hate them all. There are simply better versions of this video slot online.
But if you are a fan of the genre, and just like more of the same, this Book of Secrets slot machine is solid enough that you may get lucky.

Book of Secrets Review Conclusion
This is almost playable, which is why we gave this Book of Secrets slot review 2 stars.
It has all the hallmarks of a great 'Book of' slot game thanks to 5 reels and 10 paylines, that wild scatter, and the expanding scatter pay symbol in the free spin bonus round. We can't fault it there.
It's such a shame that the RTP is set at such a low 94.11%, however, as there are so many other slots of this type that do the exact same thing, but that pay out more to players.
The Book of Dead online slot, Book of 1001 Nights game, Book of Oz by Microgaming even. Any of these provide you with similar fun but better odds of winning.
Book of Secrets has all the right ingredients, but the cake is still just a little too sour for our taste.
