Play from the perspective of the Greedy Goblins as you steal, pilfer and generally get up to mischief in the latest 3D mobile slot from BetSoft.
We always get very excited about BetSoft slot releases. We don’t know why as we should certainly know better than to get excited about a low variance video slot that will load and play slowly. Same story for every BetSoft mobile slot. We Hope they will finally be able to make a fast impressive 3D slot without the need to load bonus features and slowly watching the reels spin, with no quickspin or autospin to help along.
That aside, Greedy Goblins slot is a low variance one that has quite a bit to recommend it and as it came out at the same time as it’s online version, we purposely avoided it, wanting to play the mobile game with no pre-conceptions. Which actually helps a lot. Because what this mobile slot machine wants to do above all else is entertain. And if you can live with the slow reels and bonus features (you’ll be clicking a lot to ‘stop’ the reels and ‘skip’ the wins) then this slot has a lot of merit.
Namely, it has a ton of bonus games and a payout rate of 97.20%. This mean you’ll hit most of the features often and you’ll quickly get caught up in the action as Sticky Expanding Wilds give you up to 3 re-spins, Greedy Goblins chase the screen for coins and instant wins, and the elves give you up to 25 free spins.
It’s unlikely to payout in the millions, but with a progressive jackpot and up to 12,000 coins to be grabbed in the free spins round, you can start to see the attraction.
Considering that Greedy Goblins mobile slot was built to give you small wins in order to get you to play for longer, the max wins are still appetising enough for jackpot slot players. Knowing BetSoft slots, the jackpots are unlikely to go above a few tens of thousands, but that’s still decent. Plus winning the jackpot is remarkably easy, requiring only 5 elf symbols on an active payline. Not the easiest, but this slot machine was live less than 12 hours when the first jackpot got hit.
The theme of the enchanted forest and the ongoing war between the industrious elves and the evil greedy goblins who prefer to steal than work probably works better in the online version. We only mention this as BetSoft rely a lot on their 3D slot graphics to bring the story to life, something which doesn’t always manage to get transferred in the mobile version.
That said, for lots of excitement, a good payout rate and some decent jackpot wins, Greedy Goblins slot machine had us playing for longer than we expected. Despite the slow graphics. If you’ve enjoyed BetSoft mobile games of the past, especially the very popular After Night Falls or Safari Sam this is a very good choice.

Golden Coin Collapses Feature: In this bonus feature, we are told, the greedy goblin comes and steals the golden coins on the screen if two or more show up. Now this might be true in the online game, but in the mobile game the coins simply drop off the bottom of screen and the reels will tumble down to get extra signs on the reels. Each coin does give you a few credits, but this is really a small hitting feature. We only noticed it when the reels suddenly dropped and we had to read up on what happened. No huge difference to our bankroll, but always welcomed.
Sticky Expanding Wild Respin Feature: Now here is a feature we can really sink our teeth into. The wild tree house will show up and suddenly expand, giving you up to 3 free re-spins on the reel, with the expanded Wild remaining on the screen for the re-spin.
It's not unusual to see these come in pairs, with other wilds coming into play and expanding at the same time. This is by far the best feature of the slot, reminiscent of the wilds in Starburst.
Elfanian Free Spins Feature: When 3 or more Elfania signs occur anywhere on the reels, you'll enter the Free Spins mode.
You can get up to 25 free spins if you get 5 of these magical symbols, but you are more likely to get 10 with just 3 signs. And by more likely, we've only come across 10 free spins in our play time with this slot.
During the free spins bonus round, many of the icons will be branded with random multipliers, up to 10x the value of the win. If you manage to create a winning combination with these symbols you hit yourself some quite decent payouts.
Greedy Goblins Steal Ideas Bonus Round: This is a rare and elusive bonus feature, that considering how rare it is, you would think would pay out more. We also suspected (and then confirmed when we played the online version) that this Pick Me feature works better in the online than mobile version. And we were right.
Where online it's fun and interesting with beautiful videos and graphics, in the mobile its a very basic 'click the areas until you see collect'. You'll need to find at least 2 Books of Secret symbols to trigger this feature.
Progressive Jackpot Feature: As mentioned previously you'll need to get 5 x ELF symbols on any active payline when playing the maximum bet.
Double Up Feature: After any standard payout win during the game, you may choose to double your winnings by playing the Heads or Tails coin toss game. Elf or Goblin? You decide.
Greedy Goblins mobile slot won't be for everyone, and yet it has a lot to recommend it. The betting limit is incredibly decent, allowing conservative players to bet a relatively small 60 cents to a very decent £/$/150.
The theme is fun, if on mobile simply getting an enchanted forest look and feel, rather than the theme the software was hoping for, which was from the viewpoint of the goblin. The graphics are beautiful, but you feel like something is missing - like maybe the videos and sound effects of the original. It's a stripped back version of a slot - and you can tell.
That said, with a great return to player rate and features to hit one after the other, this mobile casino game offers excitement, entertainment and will not eat your purse strings too quickly.
