Is this an online slot? Is it an instant win game? Or is this a little bit of both? We investigate this Light Blocks mobile game and find out.
And fair enough, you have big wins over 5 reels and we can see the appeal.
This Light Blocks mobile slot is nothing like those or anything that you’ve seen this casino game studio create before… but that’s not a bad thing.
You open up what looks like 5 reels and 7 rows, with multipliers starting from row 4.
Second, you have to decide how many lines you have active, but what you are doing is ‘activating’ the reels. So if you only have 1 payline, you actually have only reel 1 active.
How does that work? Because when you press spin 5 stones will drop from above. If those stones land in a line and cover the whole row, each stone has a value which you’ll then get as a win.
If you have all 5 reels active, you’ll get paid for each of the 5 stones, if you only have reel 1 active, you’ll only get paid for 1 symbol.
Basically, it’s worth having all 5 reels active, which still gives Light Blocks a 0.05 minimum bet, so very affordable for all.
If you only get 5 stones to drop down per spin, how do you get multiple row wins and get to those multipliers?
You land your symbols on the highlighted spots which will give you 1 to 2 extra stone symbols to drop from above, potentially again triggering more symbols, or creating a win line.
Creating a win line will also drop extra symbols, and when you get to the fourth row you start seeing multipliers added to the stone value.
The multipliers start at 2x all the way to 20x, and can create a massive chain reaction of wins on just a single spin.
It’s hard to recommend it because traditionalist slot players will baulk at the idea of getting just 5 symbols and not having proper paylines.
But when you look at the details it plays and feels like a slot machine, just as much as grid slots such as Viking Runecraft or Rise of Olympus game.
It’s very volatile, it’s got big multipliers, getting those extra stone drops feels like getting mini-re-spins, and if you get a chain reaction of rows full of symbols, you’ll be laughing like your in Vegas.
Recommended for those looking for something a little different.

How to get a win: You get 5 stones to line up in a row. The wins are calculated by the value of each individual stone.
You can have anything from 1 to 5 reels active - you get a win per symbol in the active reel.
Single line and double line fields: On the reels, if one of those symbols land in one of the special fields, you get extra symbols.
The single line gives you an extra stone to drop down, the double lines fields give you 2 extra symbols.
A win line will also get you extra symbols, so you can build up the rows.
How to get multipliers: If you get 4 rows full of symbols, you get a 2x multiplier. 5 rows give you a 3x multiplier, and so on.
The top multiplier and top row give you a 20x multiplier, but to get there you'll have to get the luck of the gods on your side. Still, we've won over 100 times our bet with just an 8x multiplier, mostly because that means you have a crazy run of luck and extra stone drops.
We get that there's going to be a whole load of players who are not going to enjoy this Light Blocks mobile game.
In fact, we get that many of you will probably disagree that this is even a video slot as it doesn't have proper rows, proper reels, or even proper symbols.
But we enjoyed it, and it's actually one of the most good looking Merkur Games we've seen in a while - better than Night of the Werewolf or the atrocious Big Buck Bunny slot machine.
That's not why we enjoyed it, we like it because it has huge wins and a nice twist on how you get those win.
However, it's an incredibly volatile game so be prepared to wait around for those chain reaction of stone drops and if not, maybe head to the Rise of Olympus slot by Play'n GO for something different but more slot-like.
