In the Mayan Stackways slot, RTP is set at a low 94.29%. It makes it hard to enjoy the base game as you spin with little action on the reels.

Instead, you need to hit at least 4 scatters. 3 only gets you to play 10 free spins with more Stackways symbols. It’s a nice little feature but, again, nothing strong enough to keep you going.

Mayan Stackways slot is… good?

The question mark is because Mayan Stackways slot is not one thing or the other. When we hit the 4 scatter bonus, it was, quite literally, golden. We won’t over 500x our bet, and so much more is possible.

Meanwhile, you have to wait a while to hit anything worthwhile because this game is highly volatile, and the RTP is set so low.

This is a shame because we liked the new way it creates a multiway machine – it reminds us of the stacked all ways pay reels of the Diamonds of Egypt slot with the randomness of Megaways.

Stackways: When the Stackways symbol lands on the reel, it can fill the reel with anything from 1 to 10 of the same symbols stacked high on that reel. The stacked symbols are chosen as the ones likely to create the most extended winning way. The stacking only triggers if a win can happen.

If you get 10 stacks high on all reels, you can open up a maximum of 100,000 winning ways.

Stack Spins: Land 3 Skull scatters to activate 10 free spins. During the free spins, you have a higher chance of landing Stackways symbols.

Landing the reel activator scatter symbol on a reel guarantees that a Stackways symbol lands on that reel on each remaining free spin.

A further 3 scatter symbols during the bonus give you an additional +4 spins.

Mayan Gold: Land 4 Skull scatter symbols, and you trigger this grid symbol game. The grid spins, and depending on what symbols land, you get different cash amounts and features.

Mayan Stackways Review Conclusion

What a shame that the low RTP of 94.29% affects our enjoyment of this Mayan Stackways slot review. There's no reason for it to be that low.

Wild Bison Charge slot could have a 12,000x your bet win with over 96% RTP, and even the Katmundu X slot managed a decent 95% RTP with a top win of 25,000x your stake.

There's no excuse.

That said, the Mayan Stackways slot on mobile is fun to play on tablets and phones thanks to its colourful graphics and two strong features. If you play, you won't necessarily be disappointed.

But we cannot pretend like we are adding this to our must-play casino slots list or much beyond its month of release.
