We were not sold on Randall’s Riches mobile slot from the moment we opened up the slot machine. On your tablet, you get the feeling it’s set on a real gambling hall, but the graphics within the game take away from the realistic feel and only brings to attention the fact that the theme is a little on the lazy side with no real thought put in to it. This is all the more true when you play this video slot on your mobile phone where it tries to take up more of the space and you notice the flaws all the more.

To be fair, there are not many Gold Prospecting themed mobile slots around, with only Gold Rally from Playtech making it on the top of our list frequently enough to deserve a mention here. So if this is your lucky theme you may find Randall’s Riches to your liking.

No free spins bonus rounds. This doesn’t always give you a bad slot per say, but here you really miss the thrills of a decent free spins round to keep your entertainment value up. The graphics and sounds are certainly not going to keep you spinning, so thrilling and frequent bonus features should. The only ones you’ll find on these reels is two click me bonuses, of which only one gives you decent wins.

The addition of some relatively frequent free spins would have made this a little more acceptable, especially as a medium volatility slots you’ll find yourself having to carefully budget your money. There are some spells of very little action within the reels, though the pay off, when they come, can be decent. Still Randall’s Riches mobile slot needs the entertainment factor in between the long periods of nothing and we found we sorely missed the free spins to keep us hooked.

How to find the gold

Well you can either get 5 scatters and get between 100x to 1000x your bet (guess how often that happens? 3 scatters is the most we’ve seen in these reels, and we feel lucky if we get 10x) or you can find the Search for Randall’s Riches bonus feature. Not the easiest feature to trigger, but when you do it’s worthwhile, with at least a 30x to 40x your bet in winnings. Theoretically it’s even possible to get as much as 10,000 times your bet on this little donkey riding bonus, but of course, this is the equivalent of winning the in game jackpot.

We even found that the Search held some pretty fun graphics, bringing a little charm and fun to an otherwise mediocre slot. The different ways you can explode the gold from the cave has enough entertainment to make us chuckle, it even included an exploding chicken, which gives you an idea of our level of humour.

Another nice little bonus is some good hidden multipliers within the 5 reels, as when the wild symbol is used to create a winning payline, you get bigger multipliers for the number of symbols won. Using this feature gave us some of the bigger wins in this mobile slot game.

Bonus Features

Wilds: The logo is the wild symbol and you can get anything from 1x multiplier all the way to 10x multipliers if a gold symbol appears on the payline as well. You'll be surprised how effective this is.

Scatters & Click Me Bonus: If you get 3 or more scatters anywhere on the reels, you'll get to pick one symbol for instant cash prizes. 3 scatters gets you anything from 2-50 times your bet (we found more like 10x). Theoretically, this mobile slot claims that for 4 scatters you get 10-100x your bet and five scatters you get 100 - 1,000 your bet. We've never hit those numbers so we can't say for sure, but we suspect that it will average out at the lower end of the scale.

The Search For Randall's Riches Bonus Round: A simple click me feature dressed up in some fun video graphics, you'll need to get 3 TNT plungers on the reels to trigger this bonus feature. First you'll click on one of them to see if you get 3, 4 or 5 picks in the bonus rounds. We usually got around 4 or 5, so it's fairly generous.

You'll then be taken to a secondary screen where you'll be able to pick five different explosive ways to get gold out of the cave. These amount to instant cash win and got us a decent 40x time our bet most of the time. This is the hardest hitting feature of the game and worth it for the potential 10,000 times your bet.

Randall’s Riches Review Conclusion

Randall's Riches is not without merits, but we got bored far too quickly on this 5 reels, 10 payline video slot which should have ticked all our boxes, but didn't quite impress.

We far preferred the quirkier but far more amusing Super Graphics Upside Down from the same game provider. Plus that slot game has free spins.
