Adding to the collection, the Reel King Megaways slot game gives you 117,649 ways to win, a whole load of cascades and some big win multipliers.
There are many Reel King slots out there, so you’ll probably recognise the style when you open up these Megaways slot reels. You have Fruit symbols as high paying and then Ace to 9 as low paying symbols.
You then have one horizontal reel over the top and 6 reels at the bottom. On each reel the number of rows on each reel will change from 2 to 7 symbols high, giving you a multitude of ways to win changing from spin to spin – from 1,000 ways to win to 117,649 ways.
It plays exactly as you expect, except you may notice that sometimes the reels light up in gold. In fact, on each successive cascading win (where symbols explode and more come tumbling down) the reels will continue to light up.
What is the famous Reel King Feature? That’s when you get the character of the Reel King show up and each one gives you free spins on tiny slot machines that are only one payline and 3 reels – classic slot machines within a video slot.
After 6 wins in a row, you’ll get 1-2 classic slot to play. If you get 7 wins in a row, you’ll get 2 to 3 classic slots, whilst any more than that will gets you 3 to 6 classic slots.
These machines only have 7s, each with their own paytable, which payout little wins after little win and brings real excitement to the reels. The more wins you get, the higher up the free spin ladder you get.
It’s hard work to get to the free spins – but then the original only had those mini-classic slots and that seemed enough.
But this is a Megaways game, and if you love these types of slot machines, you look forward to one thing only: the bonus games. Because during the bonus games you get multipliers, and those multipliers increase with every single cascading win.
Which is why you love these games – the paytable doesn’t pay huge, because of all those ways to win, and you need the multipliers to make those win of 10,000x your bet or more.
The problem with this Reel King Megaways slot is that you have so many hoops to jump through in order to get here. You need to get 6 wins in a row, to the play on classic slots, to then get enough wins, to then trigger the free spins.
AND then, if you get 6 wins in a row during the bonus free spins you get to play on another classic slot that could give you extra spins or extra multipliers. It’s a game that is dependent on you chasing a chain reaction that might never come.
It get’s frustrating. And we didn’t even mention the gamble game when you trigger the free spins. In short, there’s just a little too much happening in one game to make this a must-play, but if you love Megaways, you’ll enjoy this Reel King Megaways slot well enough to keep playing.

Megaways: The 6 reels will change the number of rows, showing anything from 2 to 7 symbols, giving you up to 117,649 Ways to Win.

Lit Reels: During the base game between 0 to 6 reels will light yellow and have a ding sounds upon landing. The dings will occur from left to right. One extra reel is lit yellow for each subsequent cascade. If you get 6 wins in a row, you'll trigger the Reel King Feature. 7 wins in a row triggers the Super King Feature, whilst one or more further wins will advance you to the Mega King feature.
Reel King Feature Entry: There are 3 levels of entry to this feature. Each one has a different free spin associated to it.
Reel King Feature: Between 1 and 6 Reel king will appear over the reels, allowing you to spin mini 3 reel slot machines with 7s as the only paytable number.
If all three reels of an individual reel king become lit when landing, you advance along the trail. When a reel king spins had less the 3 lit reel, he disappears. The feature end where there are no kings left on the reels. If you've hit the free spins trail position, you get free spins bonus.
Reel King Free Spins: Before you play the free spins you can gamble on a 50/50 wheel of fortune to increase the number of free spins you catch. If it lands on green you increase the reels and if it lands on red, you lose free spins or the whole bonus. You can only play a maximum of 25 free spins.
Depending on how you've reached this bonus you may have anything from 8 to 25 free spins. Each win the multiplier rises by 1x and doesn't decrease. Each cascades lights on reel red consecutively from left to right. When they hit reel five, you get the Reel King Character shows up giving you either an increase of free spins from 1, 2 or 3 or/and increase the multiplier by 0, 1, 2, or 3.
Another Megaways slot game, but this version complicates things with a few too many mechanics so you're not sure exactly whether you are playing for free spins, for mini-spin reels or for lit reels.
There's no denying that this Reel King Megaways slot has big wins if you can reach the free spins and those big multipliers. But the same can be said of the Bonanza Megaways slot game or the Gonzo's Quest Megaways video slot - and you don't have to jump through half as many hoops.
To be honest, this is really only for fans of who like how Megaways slots work who want to find a slightly different way to play. Fans of the original will find this far too over-complicated version of the simple Reel King slot machine.
