With a great design, this Reels of Egypt slot draws you in with a simple but fun concept but doesn’t manage to keep you interested enough to stick around.
Yes, this has 3 reels and 5 paylines, so technically you’d call this a classic slot. But with a bonus 4th reel full of multipliers, free spins and a click me game, this is actually a modern take on a grid video slot – a little like the Queen’s Day Tilt slot.
Plus it looks incredible. This is Ancient Egypt like you’ve not seen it before; the pyramids glow with alien technology and turn into spaceships… because why not? You still get cats and hieroglyphics, but their meaning now takes on a whole new history.
Any casino game that gives us a chance at getting bigger multipliers on every spin immediately catches our attention.
This fourth reel spins with the normal 3, except it can (not always) gives you anything from x2 to x3, x4 or x5 your win. Which, when you look at the paytable you’ll understand why: without the multiplier, you rarely win even your bet back.
But that bonus reel is there and really comes into its own during the free spins where you can catch as much as x20 your win on a really lucky round.
Add a click me bonus where you can win up to 1,000 times your bet, and what’s not to love.
So we were playing a while, trying to trigger all the features, and we noticed a few things:
We rarely managed to get much more than 20x our bet on most win, including the click me games. That’s because the RTP of this machine is 94.43% which is quite low, even for a fairly volatile machine by Cayetano Gaming.
The wins are here, we just don’t see them coming very easily or quickly. This is like the opposite of the 3888 Ways Of The Dragon slot, which is huge and complicated, but more likely to get you the wins.

Wild: The gold Pharoah head is the wild symbol and can be used to substitute all symbol on the 3 reels (not bonus or free spin symbols).
Bonus Reel: The 4th reel spins with the other three and may land on no multiplier, or 2x, 3x, or 5x multiplier on a win. If it lands on a gap, it can sometimes nudge to give you a multiplier on a win.
Space Pyramid Bonus: You trigger this feature by getting the bonus symbol on the bonus reel.
3 random multipliers on the 10 pyramids sum up to offer your total prize. You can either collect at any time or choose a new offer up to 2 times to try your luck for a bigger prize (but you may get less). The most you can win in this click me bonus is 1000 x your bet.
Free Spins: You trigger the free spins by getting a free spin symbol on the bonus reel. You'll get to spin 7 bonus games with even bigger multipliers. The multipliers here range up to 20x.
We actually quite like simple 3x3 classic slots, especially when they provide surprises like a 4th reel full of multipliers.
The problems with this Reels of Egypt slot on mobile are twofold: first, the betting range is odd. For a 5 payline slot, the minimum bet should be less than 0.20 a spin and the max bet could be higher than just 20 a spin.
The second is that the return to player rate is a measly 94.43%, and we rarely play on anything less than 95%. You do see the effect on the reels as the base game pays out little, the click me game is dangerous, and your only hope left are the free spin multipliers.
In short, a good concept, a great Egyptian slot design, but not quite executed well enough.
