With 8 reels and 10 rows, this Tiki Fruits mobile slot by Red Tiger Gaming is almost unique and creates some fun chain-reaction of massive wins.
Grid slots where you get wins by creating clusters of 5 symbols touching each other horizontally or vertically isn’t new anymore.
NetEnt does it in slot games like The Legend of Shangri La and Lost Relic, whilst Play’n GO studios do so many we’ve lost count.
The big change here is that there’s just so much more with 8 rows full of 10 different symbols; from 4 low paying fruits and then classic symbols like bells, diamonds and 7s filling the rest.
The theme here is well done but isn’t particularly unique. You have the Tiki god sitting by the reels, reacting to your wins, but mostly your eyes are on the cocktail counter on the right-hand side.
Because whenever you get a cluster of wins, those symbols disappear and, if they are fruit, are collected in that counter. You then get even more symbols come tumbling down giving you a second chance at a win.
Get enough wins and chain reactions, and that symbol will then permanently disappear until no more chain reactions happen.
Usually, in the base game, if you are lucky, you’ll get rid of one, maybe two fruit symbols, meaning slightly richer reels and wins of around 10x your bet.
Red Tiger Gaming studios have made this a high variance slot machine, which we wouldn’t have guessed from the gameplay because you get a fair amount of wins often enough.
That said, you don’t get very big wins. Not until you get to the Tiki Fruits free spins where you can win up to 2,000 times your bet.
You do this because this time, once one of the fruit symbols is removed, it’s removed for the whole bonus game. And because there are no paylines you can get whole reels of high paying symbols.
It’s not even that difficult to re-trigger the free spins, but you don’t always get as many as you might like.
The thing about this video slot is that it feels like a lot of other fruit machines you may have played in the past, and yet it has its own distinctive flavour.
We love that you can create your own richer reels during the avalanche wins, giving you more chances at bigger wins and you don’t have to wait for the free spin games… though you kinda do.
It would have been more fun to have maybe a wild or two in there, but overall this is a fun volatile slot that stands side by side with games like Golden Ticket slot or even Reactoonz by Play’n GO.

Cluster Pays: A cluster of 5 or more symbols, touching either vertically or horizontally (not diagonally) creates a win.
Avalanche Wins: Any winning symbols will disappear, and all the symbols will then fall down, with more coming down from above giving you another chance at a win.
Fruit Bar: During those avalanche wins, get enough fruit symbol wins and those will be collected on the fruit bar to the right of the reels - a little like in Spina Colada by Yggdrasil.
The bar resets after each spin, except during the free spins.
Free Spins: The fruit bar also collect coconut cocktail symbols. Get 5 and you'll trigger a random number of free spins.
The least we've seen is 5, and the most we've seen is 20.
The main difference here is that the fruit bar doesn't reset. So once you've removed a fruit symbol from the board it stays removed for the whole of the bonus games.
Totem Activator: The Totem to the right of the reels may randomly, at any time, remove one of the fruit symbols from the reels.
Less symbols = bigger and easier wins.
We had a lot of fun playing on this Tiki Fruits game on mobile.
If we are going to be honest, we prefer playing it as an iPad or Android Tablet slot because of the size of the reels.
That said, it's so colourful and the symbols simple enough, that even on the smaller screen it's not that hard to follow what's happening on screen thanks to the way the pays win on a cluster.
You do have to be careful with your budget here as, despite the pretty theme, it's fairly volatile and the big wins in the free games aren't always easy to get.
The Aloha Cluster Pays slot by NetEnt has some nice parallels if you want to try something similar.
