What is this mobile slot about?

The Triple Dragons mobile slot is a classic 3 reel machine with 5 paylines and a pretty oriental theme that has become very common for Pragmatic Play.

We have to wonder if Pragmatic Play is desperately trying to court Asia for all the Oriental Far East slots that have come out from this studio recently.

From the Jade Butterfly slot to Master Chen’s Fortune game, you’d think they would have run out of generic Chinese themes to plunder, yet here come this classic 3 reeler to prove us wrong.

There’s nothing wholly wrong with this Triple Dragons slot theme; you get the dragon, golden coins, drums, and lotus flowers all set against reels of gold and red. It’s fine, it’s just not exciting.

A classic 3 reel slot game but with stacked wilds

Technically, all the symbols in Triple Dragons come stacked, but you really notice the dragons for two reasons:

  1. They are the wild symbol and can be used to create wins on all 5 paylines
  2. They trigger the spin till you win re-spin bonus

That second point sounds more exciting than it is, namely because what it means is that a whole stack of wilds on a reel will hold, and the other two reels will re-spin… until you get a single win.

It’s nice and adds a little drama, but strangely doesn’t bring you huge wins.

For a volatile slot, you can only win 300 times your bet

According to Pragmatic Play game studios, the top win here is around 300 times your bet.

Which wouldn’t be a bad thing if this was a low variance quit-hit game. But it’s not. It’s meant to be high variance, meaning that top win should be hard to reach.

The thing is, this didn’t feel like we were playing a particularly dangerous game. So either it was mislabelled or we had a lucky run, but we didn’t win much or lose much… making us not think much of this Triple Dragons slot.

Ultimately that’s no bad thing, but we certainly got more thrills playing on the Vegas Diamonds slot game by Elk, which has bigger wins but is also far more dangerous than these tame little lizards.

In-game bonus features

Stacked Wilds: The Dragon is the wild symbol and comes stacked. It can be used to replace any other symbol to create a win on any of the five paylines.

Respin Until You Win: If You get a full stack of Dragon symbol to land on any of the 3 reels you get a re-spin of the other two reels until a win is created.

If you get another stack of wilds, this creates wins, but also gives you a further re-spin of the last reel in the hope of catching another stack of dragons.

Closing thoughts

If its classic oriental reels you want, this Triple Dragons slot game isn't bad. The Stacked symbols make you hope for bigger wins and the dragon re-spins can be effective.

It's a shame then that getting a screen full of the same symbols rarely bring you the kind of thrills you expect, mostly because the value of the paytable is fairly low for a high variance game.

The Triple Tigers slot has the same Far East feel, but will probably satisfy classic slot players better than this Pragmatic Play machine.

Triple Tiger is a classic 3 reel slot machine with 5 paylines and an oriental theme. You will find stacked dragon wilds than can cause re-spins of the reels to give you a guaranteed win.
