The original grand-daddy of gods is here, thundering his way into your mobile screens with promises of riches.
When we first began researching the Zeus mobile slot, we only vaguely knew it was connected to the, in our opinion, superior WMS slot Zeus III.
What we didn’t realise is what a following the Zeus slot machine actually had. Apparently, not only is it the one that started gamblers to love of all things greek, but it’s one of the original WMS machines that has been at casinos for decades.
Alright, this is bound to be a little bit special, right?
The problem with being one of the firsts, is that everyone copies you afterwards – so by default, you become less original as more new video slots come out.
Thing is, considering it’s age, this Zeus slot has held itself up remarkably well to time.
With thunderbolt scatters, greek vase, laurel wreaths, Pegasus, Acropolis and more, each symbol is unique and representing the ancient Greece of old. It’s a little old fashioned, but in a nice way.
Add 30 paylines on a 5×3 reels, wilds, scatters and free spins, and this is exactly what you expect from WMS slots.
Add that you get a payout on two Zeus symbols, who always come stacked, and your budget won’t suffer as much as other machines of it’s kind.
And what this old god does well is get you excited for the one big bonus feature of the game; the free spins.
Sure, 90% of the time you’ll trigger the free spins using only 3 scatters, and therefore 10 free spins.
But even then, there’s wins worth chasing, because both the wild and the highest paying symbol in the reels (Zeus himself) come stacked.
And whilst we have had plenty of bad rounds whilst testing the Zeus slot game, we’ve had some incredibly wins of 100 times or more our bet – usually by re-triggering the free spins at least once.
We can only sit and daydream about what 100 free spins would look like. Probably taste as sweet as ambrosia.
Are there more fancy mobile video slots out there? Sure. The brilliant Bruce Lee slot for one.
But if you love slots with bonus games, uncomplicated game play, and machines that don’t suck you dry quickly, then you won’t be disappointed with this Zeus slot.

Wilds: The Acropolis is wild. If you don't know what an Acropolis is, think that thing that's standing on top of Athens. If you've never seen an image of Athens in your life, then it's the symbol with 'wild' written across it.
It replaces all other symbols except scatters.
Scatters and Free Spins: The hand of Zeus clutching a thunderbolt is the scatter and bonus symbols. You trigger the free spins by getting 3 or more of these symbols anywhere on the screen.
During the free spins not only does the Zeus symbol (highest paying on the board) come stacked more frequently, but the wild symbol is also stacked.
We've once hit 4 scatters once, but if we are honest, you're more likely to hit 3 and re-trigger within the bonus games themselves.
Though we didn't know about this WMS gem before it came out as the Zeus mobile slot, we have to admit that we could immediately see the appeal.
It might not be as fancy as some of the more recent slot machines, but it pays out well in the base game, helping you to tick along, and still gives you good hopes for some blazing wins during the free spins.
Still, don't get too laid back about this machine, and budget for a good 50 spins just in case. This fickle god can decide to go on strike and you'll wonder if we've reviewed a totally different game.
If that happens, have a go on the Crystal Forest slot. Just as nice, but with a little more action on the reels,
