Microgaming To Create New Tarzan Slot For Winter 2016

Microgaming have been a little slow this year to talk about what their ‘big’ game release will be for 2016, and we certainly didn’t expect it to be a Tarzan slot machine.

At the beginning of the year, for example, we know that NetEnt would release the Jimi Hendrix slot in Spring and then Motorhead in August.

But from Microgaming? The Jurassic World slot out sometime this year, but as of yet no further news.

That is until today, when they’ve confirmed that they signed the exclusive rights to the king of the jungle.

But will the Tarzan slot still be relevant? Are we that excited about a guy we’ve seen again, and again, on TV and movies for over a century?

What we know about this Tarzan slot

It’s still very early days. So far we have… a logo.

They have the rights to all the characters, and yes… that famous yell

Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc, named after the author who wrote the original book back in 1912 have given Microgaming full license on all the original characters and the famous yell.

Microgaming have promised that the man ape will take centre stage, but that Jane, Archimedes (her father) and ‘his jungle friends’ will all be part of the ensemble.

Also confirmed, this will not be an online slot only. Which actually isn’t that surprising as for a while now this game studio has ensured that all their biggest casino releases are made on all platforms.

Either way, expect it to work beautifully on both the latest Android and Apple devices.

And the good news is that because this isn’t based on a specific movie, they won’t need to create cut scenes which you’ll miss out on in the mobile version.

The theme is around the original Tarzan book so they can do whatever they want with the character. Within reason.

It’s already in production

Despite only making the announcement this week, it seems that this Tarzan video slot has been kicking around their office for a while.

And considering that Tarzan is such a huge name, landing the ‘exclusive’ rights to make any kind of online slot games is a big scoop for them.

Is the Tarzan brand still relevant in 2016?

There are two different opinions on this.

The first is that since Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote Tarzan of the Apes at the turn of the century, we’ve grown tired of what’s become a relic of a man.

Who cares if it didn’t get raving reviews. Did you know that this jungle hero is one of the most filmed characters in motion picture history? That he’s been portrayed by 29 different actors since 1918, and likely to continue for many years to come.

If NetEnt could create an iconic looking game with the Invisible Man slot, we have no doubt that Microgaming will do something special with Tarzan.
