First things first, a little apology. We got overly excited and predicted that Jurassic Park slot was going to be released in July. It isn’t, we’ve now got confirmation that it won’t be here till August 2014.

So this list doesn’t have the big blockbuster release we were hoping for, but that’s ok. Still plenty of action for Microgaming mobile and desktop players to enjoy.

The desktop releases: RoboJack & Fish Party

Let’s get the desktop releases out of the way first, because they are they actual ‘new’ Microgaming games. ie. not seen before. The mobile game releases are all blasts from the slot past, though a few are good fun if you haven’t encountered them before.

Let’s starts with RoboJack. Another 243 ways to win bonanza with 5 by 3 reels. You’ll be entering a grungy robot making factory; think Wall-E but before they’d set off into the spaceship. High card symbols will show up prominently, along with the logo that’s wild, atoms and… a treasure chest…? … because… Pirates work in the factory?

Little oddness aside, the free spins will be the big draw, as you get a choice of five robots. Pick one and you’ll be given your result to pick again if you’re not happy with your choice. But that’s it. You’re stuck with your second choice and the special bonus symbols.

Though you could technically end up with 60 free spins if you get 5 scatters, chances are you’ll hit three scatters and get anything between 12 to 20 free spins. At around medium variance this RoboJack slot will need a little budgeting to ensure you make the most of your game play.

Fish Party slot looks better however. Simpler, but the maximum you can win is higher (97 thousand rather than 90 thousands) and the return to player rate is better (97% rather than 96%), but the volatility is the same – medium. So it pays more, pays better and play similarly to RoboJack. Why would you play the first?

We suppose Fish Party has a theme that has been done before. Cute and goofy underwater critters. But we prefer the bright and in your face colourful video slots. Plus this online game has stacked wilds in the base game, which only increase in frequency and amount during the free spins. Not just that, but normal symbols come stacked during the free spins and you’ll know you’ll get 20 when you hit those three scatters.

We get three in total, perhaps to make up for the fact that none of them are new games. Still, let’s not be children about it all (god knows we’ve whined and bitched about it in all the other new Microgaming slots pieces we’ve written) and see exactly what we get this beautiful month of July.

Let’s start with the least interesting of the lot. It’s always nice to end on a high right? Not, actually that there is anything wrong with this 5 reel, 9 payline video slot. It actually reminded us of the simple, but still good fun, Spring Break mobile slot.

The symbols are mostly your classic symbols: sevens, bells, bars, and fruities. The only thing bringing in the summer time fun would be the scatter written on a white sandy beach and the logo itself. Kathmandu slot game

Another 9 payline 5 reel video slot. Microgaming are keeping all the 243 ways to win for desktop it seems? The Grand Journey

Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth get’s a Microgaming twist in this 2013 video slot turn mobile. This one is 30 paylines and 5 reels, so the bet limit will be a little higher than the other two.

However, as a mobile slot The Grand Journey looks like a decent addition and comes with the better graphics of the three. From your chiselled jawed hero, to the busty love interest surrounded by roaming dinosaurs and volcanoes this adventure slot game looks great. You even have a mechanical device drilling to the centre of the earth as an expanded wild in the base game.

As always it’s the bonus game that grabs your attention, with 15 free spins starting with a 2x multiplier and moving all the way up to 10x. Works a little like Tiger’s Eye, which we rated highly.
