A high fantasy slot game with cascading wins

This isn’t quite as beautiful as we’d have hoped, but still highly detailed.

You’d think, considering the ‘Double Dragon slot’ title of this Yggdrasil machine, that there would be more dragons on the five reels.

But instead you get the typical hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs, and then… dragon eyes? Dragon talisman? Dragon clocks? Not 100% sure what those are suppose to be.

Basically generic symbols of different colours. Which is a little disappointing. If there is anything that Yggdrasil is good at doing is creating beautiful immersive slot themes.

Even the Seasons slot, with it’s cartoony style, has more interesting symbols. That said, you can’t deny the background and decorations are gorgeous to look at.

Lets hope the animations makes this Double Dragon slot game more interesting when playing.

The 4 types of wild symbols in Double Dragon slot

By our count there are four types of wilds here.

1. Standard stacked wilds: show up whenever
2. Blue dragon head wild: multiplies all combinations by 2x
3. Red dragon head wild: creates 2-3 additional wilds randomly
4. Double Dragon feature: win 4 times in a row (2 in the free spins) and you get a stack of 7 or 28 tall wild symbols added to 2 reels, leading to more cascading wins.

That’s a whole load of slot wilds. Enough, in fact, to make this game very interesting indeed.

How the cascading reels and free spins works

Cascading wins seem to be popular recently, Microgaming only just released their pretty Jungle Jim El Dorado game.

But whilst that machine was just a copy of Gonzo’s Quest, this Double Dragon online slot tries to do something a little different with the cascading reels.

It’s all down to that Double Dragon feature we were talking about a moment ago. That’s what caught our attention enough to write this mobile slot preview and bring our level of interest from ‘meh’ to ‘intriguing’.

We do not get intrigued a lot by new slot games. Mostly, we can look at what we are about to get and take a good educated guess whether we are going to like it or not.

Look at the upcoming Motorhead slot, for example. That’s going to be somewhere in the middle of the range, fun but not earth shattering.

Double Dragon, on the other hand, has a feature intriguing enough that we won’t be able to tell you if we like the game until we play it.

Double the wins or double the trouble?

Unlike the likes of Gonzo’s Quest or Cool Wolf slot, these cascading reels won’t give you multiplier on each win.

Instead, whilst winning symbols will disappear, and more will come cascading down from above, you’ll need 4 cascades to trigger a bonus feature.

This adds 2 stacks of wilds on screen.

The reason it makes it interesting is because if those stacks are in the right position, and you can get as many as 28 high stacks, you can get a whole cascade of wins, after wins, after wins.

Plenty of potential, but is it all false hope?

Of course, it won’t be until we play it that we’ll find out how easy it is to get those cascades. In Yggdrasil’s Incinerator slot, for example, they were relatively easy to get.

But then, that was a fairly low variance slot machine.

This Double Dragon mobile game, on the other hand, aims a little higher, with 800 times your bet available on one spin, or one massive cascade of wins.

Not as high as some, but high enough to make us hope that we will catch that Double Dragon slot feature often enough to make things interesting.
