To say we didn’t love the theme would be a little bit of an understatement. Sexy is one thing – this casino games software did it beautifully in their Playboy slot – but this is just a little too obvious and in your face for us.

Then again, the male half of the team may be keeping quiet to avoid any confrontations on the subject.

The theme of the Dragon Dance slot

Thank-god, then, for the Dragon Dance slot, which comes just in time for the Chinese New Year on the 8th of February.

It is, granted, a far more boring theme, but only in as much as we’ve seen it all before. The Ace to 9 symbols are pretty standard, and the Chinese dragons and dancers as the high paying symbols complete the set.

The reds and golds bring a festive tone to the whole thing, whilst you’ve got to admit that the dancing dragon and the elaborate lion costumes are very well done.

There’s enough firecrackers in there to feel authentic, and whilst Microgaming have done about a million of these Asian online slots before (see Lucky Koi or Asian Beauties as mobile example), that doesn’t make them any less fun to play.

Are we excited or disappointed?

Pretty excited actually. Mostly, we’ll grant you, because we get two new Microgaming slot games that will be released on both online and mobile at the same time, so as far as we are concerned, it’s a win.

No, we are not enamoured with the Bikini Party theme, but then isn’t that the whole point of these multi-“same as the other”-slot releases?
